This is an obsession fan blog purely for Steven Universe *SPOILER ALERT THERE WILL BE SPOILERS*, a cartoon network show created by the awesome and adorable Rebecca Sugar

Rebecca Sugar is the "first woman to independently create a series for [Cartoon] Network" according to her Wikipedia page. She's twenty eight years old, was born in Maryland, and attended the School of Visual Arts in New York. Interesting fact, she was on Adventure Time's story-boarding crew for their first season, and was a story-boarding artist for the movie Hotel Transylvania (super cute animation movie).
Steven Universe in a nutshell is about a boy named, you guessed it, Steven Universe, who is a half-human and half-gem on his mother's side. He is apart of a group of rebel gems called the "crystal gems". These gems, Pearl, Amethyst, Garnet, and Rose Quartz, rebelled against what can be called the "Great Diamond Authority", that is, the group of gems who control the gem society from their Homeworld, and instead of harvesting planet Earth for the Authority to expand the gem empire, these Crystal gems fought to protect it, and still are protecting it.
Steven is the son of Rose Quartz and Greg Universe, who is a human. Rose Quartz had to give up her physical form to give birth to Steven, so consequently she is no longer around, and Steven lives with the Crystal gems in the temple of Rose Quartz.
What I love about this show most is that is explores nonbinary genders, and is also simply put "very amazingly gay". As a demiboy ftm who is in a relationship with a beautiful agender person (who I adore and will probably talk alot about throughout this blog), it's freshing to have a show where you are represented, where your community is represented better yet. Garnet, for example, is a fusion between the gems Sapphire and Ruby, who are both female presenting, but according to the Steven Universe wiki page, Ruby is genderless. They are also romantic partners. I absolutely love Garnet.

The art for the show is also beautiful, the little details make it feel familar, the MUSIC IS AMAZING, you can bet that i'll probably post something on my top ten favorite songs from the first two seasons. So if you haven't watched the show, doesn't matter how old you are, I highly recommend it!!
